The Importance of the Unexpected Treasure

I am constantly and thoroughly intrigued by how much we keep to ourselves.  I am without a doubt a culprit of withholding information about myself and those little quirks that get my wheels turning.
Imagine entering the room/apartment/home of a new friend and surveying what they have chosen to decorate with; it is possible that they just simply love rabbits and have therefore chosen a rabbit pillow to accent their rabbit sofa next to their rabbit painting, but what if there's something else to it?
Recently, I was looking about my dorm room and it struck me.  Every decoration that I value in that room has immense meaning behind it and my visitors have no idea.  Now, most of that statement excites me, it makes me more mysterious, but knowing that some of my friends could look at that plaque, or bedspread, or picture, or journal and never know the powerful bond I have with it.
I write this blog not to glorify our material possessions, but to allow others some insight into what unexpected treasures we hold most dear.
